Genevieve Morelli, President

Genevieve Morelli is President of the Independent Telephone and Telecommunications Alliance ("ITTA"), the voice of mid-size telephone companies in Washington, D.C. Ms. Morelli has over twenty-five years experience as a telecommunications professional. Immediately prior to joining ITTA in March 2011, Ms. Morelli was a Partner in the Washington, D.C. office of national law firm Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, where she represented a diverse group of communications service providers in federal and state regulatory, appellate litigation and transactional matters. Ms. Morelli previously headed the federal and state regulatory and legislative programs for Qwest Communications International and prior to that time served as Executive Vice President & General Counsel of the Competitive Telecommunications Association ("COMPTEL"). Ms. Morelli also served as communications counsel for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners ("NARUC").

Ms. Morelli holds a law degree from George Washington University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from New York University. She is a member of the District of Columbia bar and the Federal Communications Bar Association.

Micah Caldwell, Vice President, Regulatory Affairs

Micah Caldwell is Vice President, Regulatory Affairs at ITTA, where she oversees the association’s advocacy on regulatory matters before the Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”) in the wireline, broadband and IPTV areas.  Prior to joining ITTA, Micah was an attorney in private practice at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP (“EAPD”) (formerly Fleischman and Harding LLP), where she advised communications companies, including cable operators, video programming networks, broadcasters, and new technology companies regarding a variety of federal and state regulatory issues arising in connection with their provision of broadband, video and voice services.

Previously, Ms. Caldwell worked at Lawler, Metzger, Milkman & Keeney (now Lawler, Metzger, Keeney & Logan), where she focused on wireline as well as wireless regulatory issues. During law school, Micah worked at the FCC in the Enforcement Bureau’s Investigations & Hearings Division.

Ms. Caldwell received her law degree from the American University Washington College of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University. She is a member of the District of Columbia bar and Federal Communications Bar Association.  Ms. Caldwell currently serves as an ex-officio member of the FCBA Executive Committee.

Paul Raak, Vice President, Legislative Affairs

Paul Raak is Vice President, Legislative Affairs at ITTA, where he oversees the memberships advocacy on Capitol Hill. Prior to joining ITTA, Paul worked for Congressman Lee Terry (R, NE) and Congressman Steve King (R, IA) advising on technology and tax policy.

In addition to over ten years of experience advising on technology policy on Capitol Hill, Paul brings a “hands on” approach to telecommunication policy. Prior to working on Capitol Hill Paul worked for a rural Iowa telecommunication company that provided landline voice, broadband, wireless, CATV, and cable modem service. In addition to Paul’s telecommunication experience Paul worked for the Iowa State Senate and is active in Iowa politics.

Paul holds a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Northern Iowa.
